The video states that the author (Creator) of the okvideo is the user in question :

Hmm I think the point it it is being listed in "alimander"'s author page, not "okvideo"'s... so the author page should list items by creator, not by owner. Will check this with him.

i just tested adding a video as "manager" and changing owner to "test". this now appears in "test" author page.

but - just need to change the part that says "Posted: Jan 24, 2011 by manager" below each video.

this should reflect owner rather than creator also.

as this has its own view - is it possible to update this (or check it) on the generic video listing view also?

It already shows 'test' not manager ... ?

i just tested again to be sure.

i changed the owner of this video from "test" to "reviewer"  http://testing.plumi.org:16080/Plone/Members/test/videos/test-video/

in that page it says "by Reviewer — last modified Jan 26, 2011 02:37 AM" which is what it's meant to do.

however, now in the reviewer's author page it lists two videos from user "test", including the one i just changed ownership of, but it says "Posted: Dec 22, 2010 by test" for that video (not "by reviewer")

 http://testing.plumi.org:16080/Plone/author/reviewer

so why is it listing one of "test"'s videos, and one of "reviewer"'s videos too - but saying it belongs to "test"?

As per skype discussions with Anna, Owner is a role that can have multiple people with it hence we were having difficulty with the code, coupled with the fact it is not in the portal_catalog this could be an expensive call on a large site.

Not quite sure of an easy way ahead with this.

  • Priority changed from major to critical

making this critical - though it may not be solvable, much investigation has already been done, we should finish this one way or another - by finding a solution or ditching the requirement.

Dave, you found a work around for this no with just calling things from the video folder? Do you want to take this ticket back?

It works, nice stuff. Will need to double check this when we have more data but for the moment looks pretty good.
